The Blue Hills Bank Foundation, in partnership with Hingham-headquartered UPPAbaby, a stroller and car seat manufacturer, proudly support the Wonderfund, the 501©3 arm of the Department of Child and Families in Massachusetts that provides comfort and dignity to children in traumatic situations.
Through this charitable giving collaboration, the Blue Hills Bank Foundation is granting $5,000 to be used to purchase essential items for foster families, while UPPAbaby is providing $10,000 in strollers for foster parents and caretakers within the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF) Coastal Area Office. The office serves the towns of Braintree, Cohasset, Hingham, Hull, Milton, Norwell, Quincy, Randolph, Scituate, and Weymouth.
“The Wonderfund does a wonderful job in providing necessities as well as opportunities to thousands of children across Massachusetts,” said William M. Parent, President and CEO of Blue Hills Bank. “We’re happy to help the men and women who take in foster children, and collaborating with the people at UPPAbaby gave us that chance.”
“We created the UPPAbaby Gives Back program to partner with companies and organizations that share the same mission of providing funds, services and essential products for families and caretakers in need,” said Bob Monahan, co-founder of UPPAbaby. “The Wonderfund is a tremendous organization that goes above and beyond to support and provide opportunities for children in need. We are happy to help foster families by providing strollers, a necessary item that will help provide safe transport for children they are caring for.”
“The Wonderfund is so grateful to the Blue Hills Foundation and UPPAbaby for providing critically-needed baby equipment to infants and toddlers involved with the Department of Children and Families’ Coastal Area Office,” said Jennifer Kitchenham, Executive Director of the Wonderfund. “This generous donation of strollers will go a long way to keep our kids safe and comfortable. We sincerely appreciate this vital partnership with the Blue Hills Bank Foundation and UPPAbaby. They are true leaders in the South Shore Community and beyond.”
